X-Women perfect against Huskies

Sep 24, 2007 - The defending CIS champion StFX X-Women remain undefeated in the 2007 season after a sound 62-0 victory over the visiting Saint Mary's Huskies Sunday afternoon at Oland Stadium in Antigonish, NS. Second year winger Courtnay Malcolm led the X charge with 22 points, scoring two tries and six converts. Last year's CIS Rookie of the Year Ghislaine Landry scored three tries, while Megan Pritchard and Jill MacLaren each scored two tries a piece. Brittany Conrad rounded out the scoring for the X-Women with a single try.\r\n\r\nThe win moves the X-Women to 3-0 while the Huskies were handed their first loss of the season (2-1). In three AUS games the X-Women have outscored their opponents by a 139-10 margin.\r\n\r\nThe first place X-Women will host the UPEI Panthers (1-2) Sunday afternoon, Sept. 30 at 12 noon in a Homecoming game.\r\n\r\nThis weekend also marks a 10 Years of X-Women Rugby Reunion Celebration. Friday night there will be a ‰Û÷Meet and Greet‰Ûª Social at the Keating Millennium Centre. Saturday afternoon features a pick-up game of rugby alumni and Sunday morning there will be a brunch at the Oland Centre auxiliary gymnasium followed by the UPEI-StFX rugby game.
