X-Women Still Going Strong

CIS No. 3 X-Women defeated Saint Mary’s Huskies this past Saturday afternoon 5-1. The X-Women are still undefeated in regular season with an 18-0 record.

The first period of play was scoreless.

Second period X-Women’s Alex Normore (3:14), assisted by Janelle Parent, is the first to get on the board with a power play goal. StFX’s Catie Gavin (8:23), fired one past the goal line to make it 2-0 in X’s favor. Assist went to Erin Brophy. Saint Mary’s Lauren McCusker (15:21) responded for the Huskies to bring the score to 2-1 at the end of the second.

X-Women’s Erin Brophy (1:15), assisted by Jessica McCullough, gets a quick goal to start off the third period. Janelle Parent (2:26), for StFX scored X-Women’s forth goal of the game. Assisted by Normore and Brittney Perkins. Erin Brophy (12:55), with her second goal of the night brings the score to its final 5-1 for StFX.

Final shots on net were 32-23 in favor of StFX. Katie Greenway was awarded the win while Saint Mary’s Jillian MacIsaac was tagged with the loss.

 X-Women next see action this Friday February 11th at home at the Keating Centre vs Saint Mary's at 7:00 pm and next Tuesday at home vs Mount Allison at 7:30 pm.
