Coach Watson served as interim head coach of the X-Women Basketball program from December, 2021 to April, 2022. He previously served as an assistant coach with the X-Women and has also been an assistant with the X-Men team for the past two seasons. He also serves as an assistant coach with the Niagara Riverlions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) in the university off-season.

Watson played professional basketball for seven years both internationally and domestically and was a former junior men's Canadian national team player in 2008 and played his collegiate basketball with New Mexico State University from 2008 to 2013.
