Hoop X-Women drop two games against Sea-Hawks

The StFX X-Women dropped to 1-5 on the season with a pair of losses against the Memorial Se-Hawks (2-4) in St. John's this past weekend.

Saturday night the Sea-Hawks came out on top with a 61-52 victory, then followed up with a 78-70 win on Sunday.

Sea-Hawks defeat X-Women 61-52

Nov. 23, 2013 (St. John's N.L.) The Memorial Sea-Hawks used a big fourth quarter run to defeat the StFX X-Women 61-52 in AUS women's basketball at the Field House in St. John's. The Sea-Hawks finished the game on a 13-2 run.

A Megan Robinson three-pointer with 3:17 to play ignited the run to make the score 51-50 for Memorial.

Robinson would finish with 20 points and 5 rebounds to earn player of the game honours for Memorial. Sandra Amoah chipped in with 12 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Rookie Sydney Stewart gave the Sea-Hawks a spark off the bench with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.

Lia St. Pierre had a big game in defeat for the X-Women with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Kolbi Roper added 15 points and 8 rebounds. St. Pierre was the player of the game for StFX.

Sea-Hawks earn weekend sweep with 78-70 win over X-Women
 
Nov. 24, 2013 (St. John's, N.L.) The  Memorial Sea-Hawks earned their second win of the weekend by a score of 78-70 over the StFX X-Women on Sunday in AUS women's basketball at the Field House.
 
Sandra Amoah took charge for the Sea-Hawks with an impressive 16 point performance in Sunday's game. Amoah took home player of the game honours for her effort. Rookie Sydney Ezekiel added 14 points and 6 assists while Kelia Pond added 13 points.
 
Lia St. Pierre had a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds for StFX. Lindsay Lessard was the player of the game for the X-Women with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
 
The Sea-Hawks improved to 2-4 on the season while StFX fell to 1-5.
 
The Sea-Hawks will break for the semester, and return to regular season action in the New Year.

The X-Women will travel to Wolfville on Thursday, Nov. 28th to face then Acadia Axewomen (2-4), then will play host to the UPEI Panthers (4-2) Saturday, November 30th at 6:00 pm.
