X-Women post strong times at Boston Invitational

Boston, MA – Six members of the X-Women Track team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational meet Friday as the Boston University Track & Tennis Center.

Hannah McIntyre and Sarah Watson represented STFX in the 1000m race. Both finished with their second fastest times of their careers. In the race featuring 44 competitors, MacIntyre was 27th overall with a time of 2:58.37, while Watson was 33rd with a 2:59.99 result.

In the one mile race there was a whopping 318 runners in the field of NCAA and U SPORTS racers. Caroline Ash set a new STFX school record with her time of 4:52.84, coming in 103rd position overall. Caden Lee was 145th in posting a personal best time of 4:57.90.

Eileen Benoit and Allie Sandluck both had personal best times for the X-Women in the 3000m race that featured 160 runners. Benoit was 111th with a time of 9:42.76 and Sandluck was 124th at 9:47.77.

Their STFX teammates were set to compete in the SMU Open the following day in Halifax.

The AUS Championship meet is slated for February 23-24 in Moncton.
