STFX races at UNB SJ meet
The X-Men and X-Women Track teams competed at the UNB SJ Invitational meet on Friday night and Saturday.
Saint John, NB – The X-Men and X-Women Track teams competed at the UNB SJ Invitational meet on Friday night and Saturday.
Friday featured the 4x800 relay races. The X-Women squad of Caden Lee, Caroline Ash, Brynn Hebert and Allie Sandluck won the women's race with a time of 9:18.77.
The X-Men had two teams entered into the relay. Liam Patterson, Jack Wierzbicki, Joel Gallant and Jack O'Connell came in fourth spot with a time of 7:52.9. They were followed by their X teammates Liam McCulllagh, Luke MacDonald, Matthew Lawton and Andrew Lupenette in fifth place with an 8:11.5 result.
On Saturday, STFX runners competed in the 300m, 600, 1000m, 3000m and one mile events. The complete results follow.
Eileen Benoit won the one mile race, and she was followed by teammates Caroline Ash and Allie Sandluck in second and third. Brynn Hebert claimed second place in the 1000m race.
The X runners will be back in action on Feb. 9-10 when the X-Women travel to Boston for the BU Invitational. The AUS Championship will take place Feb. 23-24 in Moncton.
