Runners compete in final regular season meet
STFX sent a split squad to the SMU Open at the Canada Games Centre in Halifax on Saturday. X-Men runners competed in the 300m, 600, 1000m, 1500m and 3000m events, while the X-Women were represented in the 300m, 600m and 1500m.

In the men's 300m race, Adrian Brennan's time of 37.60 was good enough for seventh overall. Jack Wierzbicki and Tyler Baker came fifth and sixth in the 600m event with times of 1:24.66 and 1:27.30, respectively.
Owen Flemming came third in the 1000m with a 2:31.12 result, while teammate Liam Patterson was right behind him in fourth place at 2:31.52.
In the 1500m, Noah Proulx was the lone X competitor. He came in fourth with a clocking of 4:29.83.
Luc Gallant was the top X-Men finisher in the 3000m race, coming in second place with a time of 8:45.28. Luke MacDonald (8:49.66) was fourth and Ben Good (8:59.78) was fifth.
In the women's races, Maya Black was the sole X-Women competitor in the 600m, placing ninth overall with a result of 1:43.70.
Caden Lee (4:44.81) came first in the 1500m event and Taylor Rasmussen (4:57.54) was fifth.
Three X-Women competed in the 3000m including Bridget Keedwell in third place with a time of 10:39.53, Tanna Burke in fourth at 10:46.43 and Quincy Rotsaert-Smith in 16th at 11:30.19. X-Women assistant coach Gina Stewart showed the university runners the way as she herself competed in the 3000m race and garnered the top time at 10:27.67.
Next up on the schedule for the X-Men and X-Women runners is the Subway AUS Championship, taking place February 24th and 25th in Saint John, NB.
