Rawling and Hergett post great times at BU Invitational

Boston, MA – A pair of StFX track & field runners competed Saturday at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
Fourth year X-Men distance runner Angus Rawling (Calgary, AB) competed in the 3000m event, while second year X-Women runner Jane Hergett (Port Williams, NS) competed in the 1000m. Both had very good results.
In a field of 208 runners in the 3000m, Rawling placed 11th overall with a time of 8:03.34, and in doing so set a new StFX record. He beat his own previous record of 8:08.06 set at the same meet last year.
Hergett had a top ten finish, placing ninth overall in the 1000m out of 101 racers. She had a finishing time of 2:48.45 which also set a new StFX record. The previous record of 2:51:30 was set by Leanna MacLean in 2003.
Next on the schedule for the X team is the Subway AUS Championship taking place February 22-23 in Moncton.
