Eilish MacQuarrie sprinted to a second place finish in the 60m dash, posting a time of 7.97 in the finals. Teammates Nadine Otten (8.30) and Bridget Brennan (8.34) came ninth and tenth, respectively. Also competed for X in the preliminaries but not qualifying for the finals were Jillian Nolan (8.46), Lauren Agnew (8.46), Heidi Stirling (8.52) and Stephanie Brennan (9.13).
Stirling had a first place performance in the 600m run at 1:39.80, followed closely in second place by MacQuarrie at 1:40.50. Sarah Deveau wrapped up the X-Women finishers in sixth spot at 1:43.30.
In the women’s 1000m race, third year StFX runner Elizabeth O-Connell placed first overall, crossing the finish line at 3:08.20. She came fourth in the 1500m race with a time of 4:53.90. Ginny Anderson (5:17.70) and Kendra MacNeil (5:23.60) also competed in the 1500m for X, coming in ninth and tenth.
Veteran runner Natalie Kennenberg won the 3000m race with a time of 10:23.60. Natasha Herron also competed and was third overall at 10:39.40.
In the 60m hurdles, Nadine Otten was the lone X-Women to race, placing second at 9.60.
Three X-Women participated in the high jump event which saw Lauren Agnew claim top honors with a jump of 1.60m in the finals. Rebecca Bell was second at 1.45m and Stephanie Brennan was fourth at 1.30m.
The X-Women will now focus their efforts on the upcoming Subway AUS championship, scheduled for February 23-24 in Moncton, NB.
