Track runners McGuire and Munroe named co-male athletes of the week

X-Men track & field distance runner Connor McGuire was named the co-StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 24, 2013. Connor, a fourth year science student from Summerside, PE won three gold medals and was named the AUS male track athlete of the year this past weekend at the AUS championship in Moncton. Connor won the 1500m race in a time of 3:58.53 and followed up with another gold in the 3000m race, clocking in at 8:32.67. He picked up his third goal medal of the weekend with the 4x800m relay team.

X-Men track & field sprinter Mackenzie Munroe was named the co-StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 24, 2013. Mackenzie, a third year arts student (in his 1st year eligibility) from Yarmouth, NS won three gold medals and one silver this past weekend at the AUS championship in Moncton. Mackenzie won the 300m race in a time of 36.44 and followed up with a gold medal in the 600m race, clocking in at 1:25.09. His third gold came with the AUS record breaking 4x400m relay team. He wrapped up the weekend with a silver medal as a member of the 4x200m relay team.
