Robert McCulloch of the Dalhousie Tigers men’s track and field team is the Atlantic University Sport Subway Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 27th, 2011. Robert, a third-year student-athlete from Glammis, Ont., helped his team capture their tenth consecutive AUS men’s track and field banner this past weekend at the 2011 Subway AUS track and field championship hosted by Moncton. McCulloch won gold in the indoor pentathlon with 3555 points, 200 points above any other competitor, earned a silver in the 60m hurdles and added a bronze in the men’s high jump. Robert was named the most valuable male athlete of the championship meet for the third year in a row and will enter the CIS championship this weekend ranked second in the pentathlon and fourth in the high jump.

Susie Lajoie of the StFX X-Women track and field team is the Atlantic University Sport Subway Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 27th, 2011. Lajoie, a first-year student-athlete from Middleton, N.S., won four medals for the X-Women and was named the most valuable female athlete of the 2011 Subway AUS women’s track and field championship this past weekend in Moncton. Susie won gold in the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.59 seconds, silver in the triple jump with a distance of 10.81 meters, bronze in the shot put with a distance of 10.58 meters, bronze in 20lb weight throw with a distance of 12.09 meters and added a fifth place showing in the long jump with a distance of 4.81 meters.
