X-Women Participate in Moncton Open

X-Women Track & Field recently participated and were well represented in the Moncton Open 2011.

In the Women’s 18+ 60 meter dash preliminaries StFX X-Women Cassie Dobosh placed 5th in a time of 8.58 seconds, Heidi Sterling placed 8th in 8.83 seconds and Jaclyn Phillips 10th in 8.99 seconds. Fastest time in the preliminaries was 8.30 seconds. Cassie Dobosh was the lone X-Women to qualify for the finals were she placed first with a time of 8.21 seconds.

X-Women’s Heidi Sterling led the Women’s 18+ 300 meter placing 1st in a time of 44.19 seconds. StFX’s Cassie Dobosh was 2nd in 45.93 seconds, Celeste Black was 3rd in 46.19 seconds, Jaclyn Phillips was 4th in 46.37 seconds and Chloe Froelich placed 6th in 48.66 seconds.

In the Women 18+ 600 meter dash X-Women’s Celeste Black placed 3rd in a time of 1:44.96 and Chloe Froelich placed 4th in a time of 1:50.61. The fastest time in the race was 1:40.26.

X-Women were the top seven participants in the Women 18+ 1000 meter run. Becki Reeves lead the way with 3:15.55, Natalie Kannenberg placed 2nd in a time of 3:17.25, followed by Liz O’Connell with a time of 3:18.01. Helena Fiore placed 4th in a time of 3:18.46 and Sarah Cranmerbyng placed 5th in a time of 3:19.67. Coming in 6th spot was Natasha Herron in a time of 3:22.33 and 7th place at a time of 3:26.14 was Melissa Hardy.

In the 18+ 1500 meter run X-Women were well represented with 10 participants taking part in a field of 15. X-Women’s Kelly MacDonald placed 1st with a time of 5:02.15. Natalie Kannenberg was next to cross the line for StFX placing 3rd in 5:03.71. Liz O’Connell was 4th in a time of 5:11.70, followed by Helena Fiore at 5:13.54, Natasha Herron with a time of 5:19.15 and Sarah Cranmerbyng with a time of 5:19.38. Flynn Regan came in 8th position with a time of 5:21.70 and Melissa Hardy was next for the X-Women in a time of 5:29.56. Coming in 10th and 11th was Brittany Morris in a time of 5:29.61 and Beth MacNeil in a time of 5:30.59

StFX’s Susie Lajoie placed 1st in the 18+ 60 meter hurdles in a time of 9.75.

In the Women’s 18-19 Long jump X-Women’s Susie Lajoie placed 2nd in a distance of 5.00 meters.  Meghan Brophy placed 5th with a distance of 4.06 meters. The longest distance in the event was 5.10 meters.

X-Women’s Rebecca Bell finished 2nd in the Women’s 20-34 Long Jump with a distance of 4.50m. Longest distance in the event was 4.54m.

StFX’s Meghan Brophy placed 1st in the Women’s 18-19 Triple Jump with a distance of 10.31 meters. Susie Lajoie placed 3rd with a distance of 10.00 meters.

Rebecca Bell placed 2nd for the X-Women in the Women’s 20-34 Triple Jump with a distance of 9.73m. Top distance was 9.85m.

In the Women’s 18-19 Shot Put 4kg Susie Lajoie placed second with a distance of 9.39 meters. Top throwing distance was 9.54 meters.

X-Women’s Chantal Paris and Bobbi-Jo Cronk placed 2nd and 3rd in the Women’s 18-34 Shot Put 4kg. Paris’s distance was 10.20m and Cronk’s 9.92m. Team mate Katelyn Cole placed 6th with a distance of 8.96.

In the Women’s 18-19 Weight Throw 20lb X-Women’s Susie Lajoie placed 2nd with a distance of 11.68m. Top distance was 11.98m.

X-Women placed in the top three of the Women’s 20+ Weight Throw 20lb leading the way was Bobbi-Jo Cronk with a distance of 11.19, Chantal Paris with a distance of 10.39 and Katelyn Cole with a distance of 8.60.
