Bio

Coach Holwell is in his first season with the X-Men Hockey program as a full-time assistant coach. An X-Men alumnus, he played defense for four full seasons between 2018-2023. A former alternate captain, he was also extensively involved with the X-Men Hockey summer camp and Junior X-Men youth programs as an instructor during his time with STFX. A native of St. John’s, Nfld, Holwell played five seasons in the QMJHL with both the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Moncton Wildcats prior to competing for STFX.

Upon graduating with his BBA degree in 2023, Holwell played professionally for two seasons, seeing time with the Newfoundland Growlers (ECHL), Fife Flyers (EIHL), and the Brasov Wolves in the Romanian Hockey League.
