X-Men Hockey add three forwards and one defenceman to 2021-22 roster

ANTIGONISH, NS – StFX men's hockey head coach Brad Peddle is pleased to announce the addition of three forwards and one defenceman to the 2021-22 roster.

The blue and white will be welcoming forwards Connor Roberts (Owen Sound, Ont.), Zack Trott (Honeywood, Ont.) and Cameron Hebert (St. Andrews West, Ont.), along with defenceman Clark Webster (Kelvin Grove, P.E.I.) to the line-up this fall.

Connor Roberts is a 6'4", 215 pound forward who played with the Flint Firebirds of the OHL. Coach Peddle notes that he is a "big power forward with a good skill set who can skate and shoot the puck very well and will give us more size and skill down the middle."

"He was very high OHL pick who is coming off a very strong year on a very good Flint team. Connor comes highly recommended from previous coaches, and we look forward to him seeing him in blue and white in the fall."

Zack Trott is a 5'10", 185 pound forward who skated with the OHL's Soo Greyhounds. "Zack is a highly skilled forward with a great hockey sense who will make an offensive impact to our team immediately," says Peddle. "He is a high character individual who was referred to by previous coaches as the 'engine' of his team."

"Zack is coming off an outstanding last year of junior year where he finished in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies and will be a tremendous addition to our program."

Cameron Hebert is 6'1", 190 pound transfer student from Robert Morris University out of NCAA Division 1. Coach Peddle notes, "Cameron is a smart two-way forward with an offensive upside."

"He has had two years of college hockey experience and was expecting to take on a big role for a strong RMU team this upcoming season but unfortunately that program has folded and now he will pursue his hockey and educational goals at STFX. We have heard great things on his character and potential; he will be a solid addition to our group and add more experience and depth throughout our lineup," Peddle concludes.

Clark Webster is a 6'2", 190 pound defenceman who spent time with both the Summerside Capitals of the MHL and the Cowichan Capitals of the BCHL last season. The younger brother of current X-Men defenceman Bailey Webster, Clark is a very "solid defenceman with strong leadership abilities and a high compete level," says Peddle. "He has plenty of familiarity with our school and hockey program, making him a great fit to our group. He was a captain in the BCHL and will give us great depth in joining a very solid D core."

The four latest X-Men additions join previously announced recruits forwards Jacob Hudson (Antigonish, NS) and Brodi Stuart (Langley, BC).
