ANTIGONISH, NS – StFX men's hockey head coach Brad Peddle is pleased to announce that forward Josh Nelson will be joining the program for the 2020-21 season.

A native of Lockport, Illinois, Nelson spent four years in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) – three and a half seasons with the London Knights and the latter half of the 2019-20 season with the Barrie Colts. He amassed 92 points (45 goals, 47 assists) in 234 regular season games played.

"We are very happy to be adding Josh to our program," notes Coach Peddle. "He is a very smart dependable center in both ends of the rink with good speed and hockey sense. Josh brings veteran OHL experience on some very strong London teams, then had a great finish on a good Barrie team. His character and work ethic is highly regarded and he will be a great addition to our team."

Nelson plans to study Business this fall at StFX University and joins seven previously announced recruits. Also new to the line-up are defenceman Patrick Kyte (Pembroke, ON) and Brendon Clavelle (Kapuskasing, ON), along with forwards Ethan Crossman (Sackville, NB), Leif Mattson (Stonewall, MB), Conner Brugen-Cate (Langley, BC), Matthew Philip (Ilderton, ON) and Dallas Farrell (Roseneath, PE).
