Trois-Rivières, QC – The StFX X-Men skated to a 3-0 shutout victory over the UQTR Patriotes Friday night in pre-season exhibition action.

Freshman goaltender Blade Mann-Dixon picked up the shutout win in the StFX net, posting 26 saves.

After playing a scoreless first period, the X-Men opened up a 2-0 lead by tallying two second period goals.

Adam Laishram scored an unassisted shorthanded goal 3:27 into the period, while Adam Stevens scored with just 30 seconds left in the middle frame. Matt Needham and Santino Centorame assisted on the Stevens goal as the X-Men led 2-0 after 40 minutes of play.

Daniel Robertson padded the X lead just over three minutes into the third period, being set-up by Regan Spears and Laishram, who picked up his second point of the night.

The X-Men outshot the Patriotes 31-26 as they kept the home team off the scoresheet. Sebastien Auger was tagged with the loss in the Patriotes goal.
