Each day leading up to the men's hockey CIS University Cup national championship we will profile one of the X-Men student-athletes. Today we feature fourth year defenceman from Bruderheim, Alta., Bronson Maschmeyer.

What is your favorite hockey memory growing up?
My favorite hockey memory growing up is probably a bunch of memories made with my siblings, Brittaney, Brock, Emerance and Kache on the outdoor rink that my Dad and Mom had made for us.

Tell us something about yourself that may surprise people?
I grew up on a large grain farm just outside of Bruderheim Alberta. We seed just over 8500 acres.

Three words to describe your personality would be?
Old, Responsible, Determined

Do you have any game day routines or superstitions?
Right before left when putting on my hockey gear. In general the whole routine in off-ice and on-ice warmup is practically the same every game.

What's the best part about wearing the X jersey?
The sense of pride, passion, tradition and family that comes with it.
