Bio

Krista McKenna has been with the Department of Athletics and Recreation in various capacities since 2000, taking over as Sports Information Coordinator in 2004 and adding on Varsity Athletics administrative responsibilities in 2005. She has filled the role of Manager of Varsity Athletics & Communications since 2013. Krista is a BSc Physical Education graduate from StFX, and went on to complete her Master of Sport and Recreation degree at UNB.

She was a member of the Team Canada mission staff as a sports information officer for the 2007 Winter Universiade. Krista has served as convenor for numerous AUS championships hosted by StFX University, as well as convening the 2012 CIS women’s rugby national championship and three CIS women’s hockey championships (2010, 2009, 2006). She has chaired the annual Father Kehoe Golf Classic since 2005, chairs the U SPORTS sport technical committee for women's rugby, along with chairing the AUS constitution committee. She lent her time over the years as a member of both the U SPORTS and AUS Sport Committees. Most recently she was the co-chair for media relations for the 2015 & 2016 CIS men's hockey championships and the 2023 U SPORTS men's basketball championship. Krista and her husband Patrick reside in Antigonish with their three children.
