X-Women hockey forward Tyra Meropoulis was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 1, 2019. Tyra, a second year Business student from Edson, Alta. scored 5 goals in 2 weekend wins. In Friday’s 3-0 shutout over Moncton, Tyra scored 2 goals and was named player of the game. She followed up with an assist and a hat trick in Sunday’s 5-2 win over U SPORTS No. 5 ranked UPEI. In Sunday’s game she scored all 3 goals in the third period to lead the X-Women to the win and was again named player of the game. Tyra currently leads the country in goals scored (17) and points (21) heading into the Christmas break.
