X-Women hockey forward Alex Normore was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Mar. 14, 2015. Alex, a fifth year Human Kinetics student from Bedford, NS was honored as a CIS tournament all-star and a CIS 2nd team All-Canadian this week as the X-Women (1-2) placed fourth overall at the CIS championship in Calgary. In their 4-3 quarterfinal win over Guelph, Alex was player of the game as she had one assist and scored both the game-tying goal and game-winning goal (shorthanded) to advance X to the semis. She played strong games in StFX’s heartbreaking 1-0 loss to McGill in the semifinals and their close 2-1 loss to Montreal in the bronze medal game. Alex assisted on the lone X goal against Montreal. She wraps up an incredible five year career with the X-Women, leaving as the all-time StFX leading scorer with 205 points in regular season play.
