Socholotiuk, Holland and Pike receive X-Men football athlete of the week honors

StFX X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men running back Jordan Socholotiuk was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, 2016. Jordan, a third year Human Kinetics from Fort McMurray, AB scored two touchdowns in the X-Men's 33-29 win over Acadia on Saturday. He had a 71 yard TD run in the 1st quarter and his six yard TD run in the 3rd quarter helped spark a second half comeback victory for the X-Men. Jordan had 27 carries for 223 total yards in the game, along with one reception for six yards. He currently leads the AUS in rushing, averaging 132.1 yards/game with 925 total yards on 148 rushes. With one game left, he is poised to break 1000 rushing yards on the season and become the first AUS player to do so since 2007. 

StFX X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men defensive back Justin Holland was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, 2016. Justin, a 5th year Human Kinetics student (4th yr eligibility) from Parksville, BC played a strong game on defense in the X-Men's 33-29 victory over Acadia on Saturday. Justin had four solo tackles in the game and a key interception in the 3rd quarter. He currently has 22 tackles on the AUS season (19 solo and six assisted), along with three interceptions. 

StFX X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men defensive back Jeremy Pike was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, 2016. Jeremy, a 3rd year Arts student (1st year eligibility) from Cornwall, ON played a very physical and fast games on special teams defense in the X-Men's 33-29 win over Acadia on Saturday. Jeremy had two tackles (one solo and one assisted) on special teams defense and was dominant in his blocking on punt return and kickoff return.
