Cook, DaSilveira & Ford latest X-Men football athletes of the week

X-Men quarterback Tivon Cook was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 29, 2013. Tivon, a second year Arts student from Scarborough, Ont., made 11 of 20 completions for 119 total yards Friday night in the X-Men's recent loss to Saint Mary's. Playing in the second half for StFX, and seeing action in his first AUS game of the season, Tivon also had one rush for five yards. 

X-Men football defensive tackle Jainyme DaSilveira was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 29, 2013. Jainyme, a fourth year Arts student from Everett, MA played a strong night on the defensive line despite a 25-13 loss to Saint Mary's on Friday. He recorded six tackles in the game, including five solo and two assisted tackles. He currently has 12 tackles on the season after making the switch from the OL.

X-Men kicker Jeremy Ford was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 29, 2013. Jeremy, a third year Science student from Halifax, N.S. accounted for seven of the X-Men's 13 points in their recent 25-13 loss to Saint Mary's. Jeremy kicked a 27 yard field goal and a 38 yard field goal, along with the point after on their lone touchdown. He currently leads all AUS kickers with 27 total points on the season.
