Wide receiver Devon Bailey of the StFX X-Men is the Atlantic University Sport Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 8, 2013.

Bailey, a 6-foot-5, fourth-year arts student from Mississauga, Ont., scored a touchdown and led the team in receptions in Saturday's 31-10 win over the Mount Allison Mounties.

Bailey scored the first touchdown of the home opening game for the X-Men off a 26-yard Clay Masikewich pass late in the first quarter. His eight receptions for 123 yards topped all receivers in the game as he averaged 15.4 yards per catch.

Defensive lineman Rob Jubenville of the Saint Mary's Huskies is the Atlantic University Sport Defensive Player of the Week.

A fifth-year arts student from Oshawa, Ont., Jubenville was named Subway Player of the Game in Friday night's 14-11 home opening victory over the two-time defending AUS champion Acadia Axemen.

Jubenville, the all-time AUS career leader in sacks with 29.0, recorded 6.5 tackles and two sack in the game, including two tackles for 18 yards in losses.

Receiver and kick returner Melvin Abankwah of the Saint Mary's Huskies is the Atlantic University Sport Special Teams Player of the Week.

Abankwah, a third-year criminology student from Etobicoke, Ont., had 150 punt return yards and added another 60 yards on kickoff returns in Friday night's 14-11 home opening victory over the two-time defending AUS champion Acadia Axemen.

He averaged 18.8 yards on 8 punt returns, including an 82-yard effort early in the third quarter that set up an eventual SMU field goal.

Abankwah, who now leads the league in both kick and punt return average, also had four receptions for 22 yards in the victory.
