X-Men running back Andrew Hickey was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 6, 2011. Andrew, a first year Education student from Fredericton, NB, had 11 carries for 39 yards in the X-Men’s recent AUS playoff loss to Saint Mary’s. He also had one reception for 12 yards. Andrew tied for 4th overall in the AUS in touchdowns (5) and was 9th in receptions (31.4 avg/g).

X-Men football linebacker Ron Omara was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 6, 2011. Ron, a first year Arts student from Alymer, QC, led all tacklers in the recent AUS semi-final game with 10 tackles (8 solo & 4 assisted). He also had 2 tackles for a total loss of 5 yards. He finished the AUS season 2nd in team tackles and 9th in the AUS with 40 tackles and 1 sack, averaging 5.7 tackles/game.

X-Men returner/receiver Damone Williams was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 6, 2011. Damone, a first year Arts student from Mississauga, ON, had 8 punts returns for 79 total yards in the X-Men’s recent AUS playoff loss to Saint Mary’s. He also had 3 kickoff returns for 66 yards and one carry for 8 yards for a total of 153 all-purpose yards in the game.
