Rosters announced for 7th annual East West Bowl, presented by Under Armour

X-Men football wide receiver Akeem Foster (Ajax, ON), defensive back Nick Riva (Lasalle, ON) and defensive back Cauchy Muamba (Kinshasa, Congo) have been named to the East team roster for the 2009 CIS East West Bowl, the annual all-star game for those athletes eligible for the 2010 CFL draft. This year's game will be hosted by Western Ontario on May 9, 2009 in London, Ontario.

Akeem Foster is a third year Arts student who led the X-Men in receiving this year. In 7 games played, Foster recorded 574 receiving yards and scored 3 touchdowns. He was 2nd overall in the AUS in receptions (32) and reception yards (574) and was 7th in overall AUS scoring. Foster was 2nd in the conference in receiving yards per game with an 82.0 average, and led the AUS in yards per catch (17.9).

Nick Riva, a third year Arts student, played 8 games for the X-Men this season and recorded 19 solo and 9 assisted tackles for a total of 23.5. He averaged 2.9 tackles/game and was 4th overall in the AUS in passes defended. He recorded 4 breakups and 2 interceptions.

Cauchy Muamba is a third year Human Kinetics student and saw action on defense and special teams for the X-Men in 2008. He was 6th in the AUS in tackles amongst defensive backs with 27 solo and 7 assisted tackles for a total of 30.5 on the season. He averaged 4.4 tackles/game and was 1st in the AUS in forced fumbles (3). On special teams, Muamba recorded 13 punt returns in 7 games played for a total of 75 yards, and also had 6 kick returns for 104 yards.

All three X-Men were named AUS all-stars for the 2008 season.
