X Football loses 49-7 to SMU

In a game that could not affect the AUS standings, the StFX X-Men did not dressINSERT INTO articles (nId, headline, article, [image], dateofcreation, status, teamid, priority, added_by_manager) VALUES the majority of their starters and lost 49-7 at Saint Mary’s on Friday night.

After an X win over Acadia and a SMU win over Mount Allison two weekends ago, the Huskies, X-Men and Mounties each clinched first, second and third place respectively. This meant that the games played this past weekend could not have an impact on the current standings.

The 13 different starters for the X-Men showed their inexperience. StFX managed only 35 yards in net total offence, compared to SMU’s 484. The Huskies ran for 346 of those yards and averaged 11.5 a carry.

StFX’s only points were scored on a 32-yard interception return by Dylan Hollohan late in the second quarter.
