Snyder AUS Offensive Player of the Week

X-Men quarterback Steve Snyder was named the AUS Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 19, 2008. Saint Mary's defensive back Jeff Zelinski received AUS Defensive Player of the Week honors and Mount Allison receiver/kick returner Gary Ross was the AUS Special Teams Player of the Week.

Snyder, a fourth year Arts student from London, ON completed 3 touchdown passes in the X-Men’s 31-20 win over Acadia this past weekend, helping them clinch second place overall in the AUS. He was 20 for 33 in completions for a total of 379 passing yards, and also had 7 carries for 62 yards.

X-Men linebacker Tom Lynch was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 19, 2008. Tom, a third year Nutrition student from Mallorytown, ON exhibited solid defensive play for the X-Men this past Saturday in their 31-20 win over Acadia. He had to step up from his linebacker position and also play defensive line, and he had 4 tackles in the game (3 solo and 2 assisted).

X-Men linebacker Dave Skillen was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 19, 2008. Dave, a fourth year Business student from Fredericton, NB played very strong on both special teams and defense in the X-Men’s 31-20 win over Acadia this past weekend. He had 1 solo and 1 assisted tackle in the game and made a key tackle early on after a missed field goal which led to a single point.
