Community Involvement

X ATHLETICS in the COMMUNITY

Service to the community is one of the core values of the StFX Athletic Department and is one not taken lightly by StFX varsity athletes. Each year student-athletes from all varsity teams volunteer their time to multiple fundraisers, special events and youth programs in an effort to give back to both the local Antigonish community and the StFX community. The Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) assists in the coordination of community service opportunities as StFX student-athletes contribute in access of 5000 hours of community service volunteer work every year.

Some of the annual events that the Athletic Department has been associated with over the past number of years include Breast Cancer Awareness nights, the Halloween Safe Crossing Program, X-Out Violence Against Women iniatives and the X Athletes for Charity event.
