Celebrating StFX Student-Athletes of African Descent

StFX Athletics is proud to celebrate student-athletes of African descent each year in February during African Heritage Month.

African Heritage Month allows us to celebrate and honor the African heritage of our numerous StFX student-athletes, both past and present. Athletes of African descent have been an important part of the tradition of StFX Athletics, a tradition that we are proud of and one that continues to grow.

Our student-athletes of African descent from all StFX Athletics varsity teams (dating back to 2009) are honored below and as on ongoing initiative, we will continue to add to this list, eventually encompassing the complete history of StFX Athletics and athletes of African descent. Should you wish to contribute to this worthwhile project or to have your name added to the list, please email us at info@goxgo.ca.

In Nova Scotia, the celebration of Black History Month was initiated in the early 1980s through the efforts of the Black History Month Association. It is now known as African Heritage Month.
