African Heritage Month

StFX Athletics is proud to celebrate student-athletes, coaches and alumni of African descent each year in February during African Heritage Month.

African Heritage Month allows us to celebrate and honor the African heritage of our numerous StFX student-athletes, both past and present. Athletes of African descent have been an important part of the tradition of StFX Athletics, a tradition that we are proud of and one that continues to grow.

In Nova Scotia, the celebration of Black History Month was initiated in the early 1980s through the efforts of the Black History Month Association. It is now known as African Heritage Month.

Throughout the month of February, STFX Athletics will honour and highlight the achievements of various past and present student-athletes who have made an impact at our university. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as we commemorate African Heritage Month.
