In five unmatched seasons with the X-Women Basketball program, Sheila Smith, an outstanding teammate and competitor, left an impressive mark on the STFX court. She was honoured as an AUAA second-team all-star on two occasions in 1987 and 1990, collecting a pair of most valuable player trophies for the white and blue in the 1988 and 1990 campaigns. Sheila capped off her final varsity season being recognized as the 1990 STFX Female Athlete of the Year. To this date, she stands sixth in X-Women career scoring with 911 points, and her 13.6 points-per-game average places her fourth in program history. Along with her statistical successes, Sheila is regarded as a true leader and one of the best athletes in X-Women Basketball history.
