X-Women runners second at Moncton meet

Moncton, NB – The X-Women cross country team ran to a second place showing at the Universite de Moncton Invitational meet Saturday afternoon.

Dalhousie claimed top honors with a team score of 18. The X-Women accumulated 50 points and UNB came third with 120.

Rounding out the team scores were Acadia (129), Memorial (131), Moncton (142), Saint Mary's (167) and St. Thomas (233).

Dalhousie had eight runners in the top ten AUS competitors, including Colleen Wilson (21:58) in first place and Michelle Reddy (22:43) in second.

X-Women freshman Hana Marmura (Antigonish, NS) placed third overall with a time of 23:20. Leah Gouthro (Hammonds Plains, NS) was the next best X runner finishing in ninth spot at 24:08.

The complete list of X-Women results follows. Liz MacDonald (Bedford, NS) competed in her first meet of the season after battling an injury.

StFX will have a weekend off in preparation for the upcoming Subway AUS Championship scheduled for Saturday, October 31st in Fredericton, NB, as hosted by St. Thomas University.
