X-Women rugby center Vanessa Duffley is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Vanessa recently completed her third year with the X-Women and is a Human Kinetics student from Belleisle, NB.

What brought you to StFX? 
Rugby first and foremost, but also the admiration I have for my Mother and older sister Rachael who both attended StFX

What has been your best moment in a StFX uniform so far?
I have had two once in a lifetime moments in a StFX uniform…
#1. Winning Nationals at home in front 5000 fans! and
#2. The very first time I stepped onto the field wearing blue and white, against Acadia in 2010, with everyone chanting my name.

One thing I cannot live without is…? 
Sleep and a lot of it!

If I could have super-hero powers I would…?
Feel obligated to save the world. I would also hope I had the ability to fly, walk through solid objects, and remember what I need at the grocery store (my short-term memory is awful).

My biggest pet peeve is…?
Not clearing the remaining cooking time from the microwave clock

My dream vacation destination is…?
Australia

My dream job is…?
Something that will make me happy to get out of bed in the morning

I am extremely shy until I get to know you
