X-Women Hockey add forward from Nepean Jr. Wildcats

ANTIGONISH, NS – X-Women Hockey head coach Ben Berthiaume is happy to announce the commitment of forward Ellie Brown for the 2021-22 season.

Brown is a left-handed forward that is from Kemptville, Ont. She comes to the X-Women program by way of the Nepean Jr. Wildcats of the PWHL, joining Nepean alumni Josie Chisholm and Abby Lewis, current members on the X-Women roster.

In her first season with the Wildcats, the 5'6" winger had six goals and six assists in 27 games. Known to be a tireless worker on the ice, Coach Berthiaume had the following to say about the recent commitment, "We are excited about the addition of Ellie to our program for next season. She plays an energy game, but also has good offensive instincts and a great work ethic."

"Her shot is one of her greatest assets and will be a difference-maker for her at our level," he continues. "From all our communications with Ellie, she seems like a perfect fit for our program. It is always great to bring in another individual of great character that will help our program move forward."

Brown has future aspirations of becoming a lawyer and is considering either the Business Leadership or Bachelor of Arts program at StFX. She joins previously announced 2021-22 recruits forwards Lanydyn Pitts (Antigonish, NS) and Kamdyn Switzer (Stittsville, ON) and defender Vivian Hinch (Vancouver, BC).
