X-Women Hockey land first recruit for 2019-20 season

ANTIGONISH, NS – StFX X-Women hockey coach Ben Berthiaume is pleased to announce the commitment of forward Jayden Thompson to the team for the 2019-20 season.

Thompson is a 5'7" right-hand forward from Aurora, Ont. who currently plays for the Aurora Panthers of the PWHL. Long known as one of the best developmental leagues in Canada, this is Thompson's third season in the league.

She brings energy, grit and offensive capabilities to the team and Coach Berthiaume is excited to have her join the X-Women program, commenting "What jumps out with Jayden is her quickness and her high compete level. She never takes a shift off, and generates offensive chances with her quick feet."

"Having been a player that has been on the coaching staff's radar for the past couple of years, Jayden will fit in extremely well with the direction the program is going in the future. We welcome Jayden to the X-Women and look forward to seeing her grow and develop during her time with us."

Thompson intends to study Business at StFX this fall.
