X-Women, Aigles Bleues clash in AUS hockey action

On the strength of a pair of goals from Antigonish native Erin Brophy, the StFX X-Women defeated the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues 3-2 in AUS hockey action Sunday afternoon in Moncton.
 
The blue and white rallied from a 2-0 deficit for the victory.
 
Brophy scored the game-winner at 8:07 of the third period.
 
Molly MacDonald and Daniela Falconio recorded assists.
 
Catherine Dumas opened the scoring for Moncton at 15:53 of the first period, with Amelie Dion collecting the lone assist on the marker.
 
At 1:24 of the second period, Dion made it 2-0, with Dumas and Marie-Pier Arsenault drawing the assists.
 
At 12:28 of the middle stanza, Brophy put the X-Women on the board on a set-up from Paige Belair.
 
Less than two minutes later, at 14:23, Daly Oddy made it 2-2. Jenna Pitts and Alexa Normore assisted.
 
Pascale Daigle of the X-Women made 24 saves in recording the win.
 
The X-Women return to action Sunday, Nov. 3, when they host the UPEI Panthers.
 
Puck drop is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Keating Centre in Antigonish.
