X-Women hockey remain No. 5 in nation

CIS TOP TEN TUESDAY (#21)
No changes at the top as playoffs are in full swing in volleyball, hockey

OTTAWA (CIS) – There are no changes at the top in this week’s CIS national rankings as Windsor (women’s basketball), Carleton (men’s basketball), McGill (women’s hockey), UNB (men’s hockey), UBC (women’s swimming), Toronto (men’s swimming) and Guelph (women’s & men’s track and field) all maintain their No. 1 status.

The CIS winter championship season kicks off on Thursday with swimming at the University of Calgary (Feb. 21-23). Three more national championships are scheduled next week, including women’s volleyball in Sherbrooke, Que. (Feb. 28 – March 2), men’s volleyball in Quebec City (March 1-3) and wrestling in London, Ont. (March 1-2).

The playoffs are under way across the country in volleyball and hockey. In basketball, the regular season wraps up this week in the RSEQ and AUS, while the post-season starts in OUA and Canada West.

NOTES: The last national rankings of the campaign in volleyball were released last week... This week’s women’s hockey poll is the last one for this season.
