X-Women hockey forward Alex Normore is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Alex recently completed her first year with the X-Women and is a Human Kinetics student from Bedford, NS.

What brought you to StFX?
Ever since I was young I wanted to wear an X jersey… When I went to visit my brother who currently goes to X as well, I looked into the academics and found a very fitting program for me as well as knowing they had an excellent women’s hockey program. I wanted to stay close to home but not too close so StFX seemed like the perfect option.

What has been your best moment in a StFX uniform so far?
Winning the second last game of nationals to secure our spot in the national finals.

What are you most looking forward to this season?
Getting another shot at a CIS championship.

Who has been the most influential person in your life (and why)?
My mom, dad and grandfather – they have always supported me no matter what and I could always rely on them to do anything for me.

Greece (currently here)

Tell us one thing that fans may not know about you?
My first sport was skiing when I was 18 months old at the Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.
