Ice X-Women continue winning ways

Oct 17, 2007 - The hockey X-Women continued their exhibition winning ways, remaining undefeated and picking up two more wins this weekend over Saint Mary's and UPEI. The nationally ranked 4th place X-Women defeated the Huskies Saturday afternoon 4-2 in Halifax. Christina Davis and Brayden Ferguson each scored a pair of goals for StFX and Jessica Shanahan had a pair of assists. Kori Cheverie and Zoe Launcelott provided the scoring for the Huskies who were outshot by the X-Women 35-26. Katie Harvieux earned the win in nets for StFX.\r\n\r\nOn Sunday afternoon at the Keating Centre, the X-Women handed the UPEI Panthers a 6-0 defeat, scoring two goals in each period. Amanda Church scored two goals for the X-Women with Catie Gavin, Jessica Shanahan, Brayden Ferguson and Suzanne Fenerty supplying the other markers. Christina Davis added two assists and Crystal Stewart earned the shutout victory in nets.\r\n\r\nThe X-Women will open regular season play this weekend as they will again host the UPEI Panthers in their home opener Saturday afternoon at 2pm at the Keating Centre. Sunday afternoon also at 2pm, the X-Women will host the St. Thomas Tommies.
