They wrapped up a record-setting season this past weekend with a convincing 11-2 win over Mount Allison. Their 21 wins are a new conference record and they are only the third team in Atlantic conference history to post an undefeated season, joining the 2002-03 Saint Mary's Huskies (14-0-0) and the 2003-04 StFX squad (13-0-1-0) in the record books.

In the 21 regular games played, the X-Women scored a league-high 126 goals for and allowed just 18 goals against, including no more than 3 goals against in any single game.

The goaltending tandem of Katie Harvieux and Crystal Stewart combined for ten shutouts on the season, with five a piece. Forward and captain Brayden Ferguson finished first overall in AUS and CIS scoring with 50 points (25 goals and 25 assists) and becomes the third player in conference history to break the 50-point plateau, and the first to do so twice in her playing career.

Teammate Jessica Shanahan was third overall in the country with 37 points (17 goals and 20 assists) while Christina Davis and Marilynn Hay also finished in the top 20 in CIS scoring with 34 and 28 points a piece.

Defenseman Sheila Kelly wraps up her five-year career as the all-time leading scorer among blue-liners in conference history with 12 goals and 65 assists for 79 career points in 87 games.

The X-Women have been nationally ranked all season, fluctuating between fourth and fifth in the country. They have clinched a first place bye heading into the conference championship tournament taking place Feb. 22-24 at Saint Mary’s University and will play the lowest seed to advance to the semi-finals on Saturday at 1:00 pm. They will be in quest of their seventh banner, as they were previous champions in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006.
