The StFX X-Women did what they do best on the weekend - defence. Boxing out,
communicating and making stop after stop, the X-Women knocked off the visiting UPEI
Panthers 88-55.

In a game that was nothing more than fine tuning for both teams, the X-Women came
out and made a statement in their last game before traveling to Newfoundland for AUS
playoffs.

After a slow start defensively allowing UPEI to score 16 first quarter points, the XWomen
turned up the notches a few cranks and tore apart the Panthers, scoring 28
points in the second quarter while holding the Panthers to just four points.

The Panthers ended the half shooting just 23 percent.

The second half was much of the same as the X-Women took control and ended up
getting the big 33 point victory.

Rebecca Sheehan had a great game for the X-Women finishing with 16 points on fifty
percent shooting along with five steals, while Sheryl Chisholm chipped in with another
solid game, netting 15.

Leading the way for the Panthers was Nakita Newman with 18 points.

The X-Women finish the season in third place and will now take on the lowest seed, the
Saint Mary's Huskies in the first round of AUS playoffs that start this Friday at Memorial
University in Newfoundland.

The road to the finals won't be an easy one for the X-Women as they'll have to knock off
some of the toughest competition in the league.

We wish the best to the X-Women as they look to bring home an AUS Championship
banner to StFX!
