X-Men track & field competes at DAL Classic

The X-Men indoor track team participated in the Dalhousie Classic Invitational this past weekend at the Dalplex in Halifax.

Cauchy Muamba and Sam Boateng both competed in the 60m sprint, with Muamba placing third overall in a time of 7.24 seconds and Boateng coming in 8th at 7.74 seconds.

\r\n

Two X-Men competed in the 300m race. Kris Wignes placed 7th overall with a time of 40.06 while teammate Chris Brayley was 9th running in at 43.08.

\r\n

Stuart MacNeil was the lone X-Men in the 600m race and he finished in 8th spot overall in a time of 1:33.63.

\r\n

Kyle Tramble placed second amongst a field of 8 runners in the 1000m event. He ran the race in 2:36.80.

\r\n

In the 1500m distance race, Lee McCarron finished third overall and second amongst AUS competitors with a time of 4:01.51.

\r\n

The X-Men competed in the 4x200m relay race and finished in second spot (1:40.63) next to Dalhousie (1:31.79). Team members included Sam Boateng, Chris Brayley, Kris Wignes and Cauchy Muamba.

\r\n

Stewart Walsh was the lone X-Men thrower at the event, competed in both the shot put and 35lb weight throw events. In the shot put he threw 12.00m, good enough for 5th place overall, and in the weight throw was 4th, throwing 10.84m.

\r\n

The X-Men will now prepare for the AUS championship meet which is taking place this weekend, Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 at Moncton University.
