Eleven members of the StFX track & field team are heading to Winnipeg, Man. this weekend, March 7-9 to compete at the U SPORTS national championships. Athletes must qualify and earn for certain national standards in their respective events in order to be eligible to compete at the U SPORTS championship.

"Angus [Rawling] has a shot at a medal in the 3000m and 1500m, and he is ready to compete. The rest of our individual athletes and relay teams are hungry to make finals and dip into top 10 rankings."

StFX has five members of the X-Men team and six X-Women athletes competing in various events. Rawling, a fourth year distance runner from Calgary, Alta. is the reigning national champion in the 3000m event. He became the first ever StFX athlete to win a gold medal in track & field last year and will be racing in the same 3000m event, along with the 1500m.

Fifth year sprinter Tim Brennan (Beechwood, NB) will be competing in the 600m race, as well as two relay events. Brennan, along with Brad Barclay (Coldwater, ON), Eric Sutton (Peterborough, ON) and Adrian Kinney (Bristol, NB) will be representing StFX in the 4x200m and 4x400m relay races.
