Two StFX track athletes travelled to Boston this past weekend to compete at the Boston University Valentine’s Meet. Kelly MacDonald and Connor McGuire both ran in their respective 3000m races.

Fifth year veteran runner Kelly MacDonald placed first overall in her heat in the women’s 3000m race that featured 100 total runners. She ran the race in a time of 9:58.02. To watch a video of MacDonald’s race click here.

Third year X-Men runner Connor McGuire, the 2011 AUS individual cross country champion, also ran a very strong 3000m race in the men’s bracket. McGuire finished first in his heat with a personal best time of 8:28.89. The race featured 107 runners. To watch a video of McGuire’s race, click here.

Both MacDonald and McGuire are ranked first in the AUS in the women’s and men’s 3000m events, and each are ranked in the top 15 in the CIS. The StFX indoor track team next sees action this coming Saturday, February 18th in Halifax at the Dalhousie Last Chance Meet. The AUS championship is slated for February 25-26 in Moncton.
