David Gerych of the StFX X-Men's cross country team is the Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 12th, 2008. David, a fourth year exchange student from Louny, Czech Republic, won the Laval Invitational cross country meet this past Saturday amongst competitors from eleven Atlantic and QSSF conference schools, including last year’s CIS champion from Sherbrooke. Gerych, who won the 2007 Atlantic University Sport championship race, finished the 8km race in a time of 24:43.79 and led the X-Men to a first place team victory with 33 points.
