X-Women soccer midfielder Rachel Dragan was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 30, 2012. Rachel, a fourth year Human Kinetics student from Orleans, Ont. was the player of the game in the X-Women’s 2-0 win over UNB Friday night, marking their first win of the season. Rachel scored both goals in the game for the X-Women in the second half. Her opening goal came in the 49th minute, a high shot off a cross-field pass, then her second goal was scored in the 82nd minute as she booted in a loose ball off a corner kick. Rachel also played well in the X-Women’s 1-1 tie with Cape Breton on Sunday.

X-Men soccer defender Ryan Ashlee was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 30, 2012. Ryan, a second year Human Kinetics student from Victoria, BC scored the lone goal for the X-Men in their 1-1 draw with Cape Breton Sunday evening. He scored in the 63rd minute on his first touch of the game after substituting in for StFX, who were down 1-0 at that point in time. Ryan also defended well, with a great tackle, playing well on the X-Men back line.
