Marousek scores pair in X-Men season ending win
Defending AUS conference MVP Michael Marousek scored twice in leading the StFX X-Men to a season-ending 3-0 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies. The teams battled in heavy rain and win Sunday afternoon at Oland Stadium.

Marousek’s goals in the fifth and 63rd minutes sandwiched a marker by Jamar Dixon in the first half (23rd minute).

Marousek, a fifth-year senior, finished second to CBU’s Keishen Bean (16) with 12 goals in the regular season. He is the all-time leading goal scorer in X-Men soccer history.

Antigonish native Andrew MacDonald made eight saves for the home team in the shutout victory. The X-Men had 10 shots on goal.

With the victory, the X-Men currently sit in second place with a 7-3-3 record for 24 points. They must await the result of the UPEI-Mount Allison game today for the determination of the final standings prior to the AUS championship which is scheduled for Nov. 4 to 6 at Cape Breton University in Sydney.
