Three in a row for soccer X-Men

The soccer X-Men earned their third consecutive pre-season exhibition win Tuesday afternoon at Sobey field in Stellarton with a 3-0 victory over the UPEI Panthers.

Third year striker Michael Marousek (Prague, Czech Republic) opened the scoring in the game with a goal in the 27th minute, followed quickly by another marker by teammate Miroslav Novak in the 28th minute. Novak is a follow Czech native, in his third year at X.

\r\n

After the 2-0 half-time lead, third year midfielder Will Gregg (Hamilton, ON) increased the X-Men lead 60 minutes into the game. The 3-0 held through the second half with StFX keepers Marshall Dawson Kieran Goodwin sharing the shut out and victory between the pipes.

\r\n

In three exhibition games the X-Men have held their opponents scoreless.  They will open regular season AUS play this coming Friday, Sept. 11th at home when they host the Acadia Axemen at 5:15 pm on the StFX soccer pitch.
