Soccer disappointment in PEI
The X-Men soccer team lost a 2-0 decision to the UPEI Panthers Sunday afternoon in Charlottetown and in doing so have been mathematically eliminated from clinching a berth in AUS post-season play.

UNB, Saint Mary's, Dalhousie and Moncton have clinched spots in the AUS championship tournament being hosted Oct. 31 - Nov. 2 at Mount Allison University. The Mounties also earn a spot in the tournament as the host team regardless of their current 8th place standing. Left fighting for the final playoff spot are UPEI (5th, 18 points) with 1 game remaining and Cape Breton (6th, 15 points) with 2 games remaining. With their two weekend losses, the X-Men remain with 13 points sitting in 7th place and despite having two regular season games to play, are too far off the pace to earn the final spot.

The X-Men will travel to Acadia Saturday then will host Dalhousie Sunday afternoon at 3:15 pm at the StFX soccer pitch in their final game of the season.
