Atlantic University Sport is pleased to announce the 2018-19 regular season sport schedules for hockey, basketball and volleyball, as well as the hosts for the 2019 AUS winter championships.

StFX X-Men hockey defenseman Jagger has signed an amateur tryout with the Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League (AHL), as announced by the club earlier today.

Chase Marchand was named the U SPORTS goaltender of the year Wednesday night, along with being named as a U SPORTS 1st team All-Canadian. Teammate Jagger Dirk was also singled out as a U SPORTS 1st team All-Canadian on defense.

The 2018 Subway AUS Men’s Hockey Championship best-of-three final playoff series schedule between StFX and UNB has been set.

The StFX X-Men received multiple AUS accolades for thier performances on the ice during the 2017-18 season. Goaltender Chase Marchand was named the conference most valuable player and was an AUS first team all-star, while head coach Brad Peddle received the AUS Coach of the Year award. Defenseman Jagger Dirk and forward Michael Clarke were honored as AUS first team all-stars, defenseman Cole MacDonald was an AUS second team all-star and Santino Centorame was named to the AUS all-rookie team on defense.

The schedules for the 2018 Subway AUS Men’s Hockey Playoffs semi-final rounds have been set.

The U SPORTS No. 3 ranked StFX X-Men wrapped up AUS regular season play with a 5-0 loss to the UPEI Panthers Saturday night.

Tyler Boland (St.John’s, NL), Oliver Leblanc (Quebec City, QC) and Kris Bennett (Brampton, ON) each had two points as the UNB Varsity Reds defeated the StFX X-Men 5-2 Friday night, clinching first place in the Atlantic University Sport standings.

StFX Athletics is pleased to announce that tickets for Game 1 of the AUS men’s hockey semifinal playoff series and Game 1 of the AUS women’s hockey playoff series are now on sale.

The U SPORTS No. 1 ranked StFX X-Men (22-2-4) bested the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-22-2) by a 5-2 score Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre. The crowd of over 500 were treated to a very fast paced and physical 60 minutes of play.

The visiting Dalhousie Tigers (9-18-1) extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-3 upset over the U SPORTS No. 1 ranked StFX X-Men (21-2-4) Friday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre. Seven different Tigers found the back of the X-Men net.

The StFX X-Men hockey team are back atop the U SPORTS Top Ten national rankings, while the X-Women hockey team move up a spot to No. 3 in the country.

The StFX X-Men (21-1-4) scored quickly in overtime to edge the Saint Mary’s Huskies (16-8-2) by a 3-2 score in a tight Friday night game at the Halifax Forum.

In a battle of U SPORTS top ten ranked teams, the No. 2 StFX X-Men defeated the No. 7 Acadia Axemen by a 4-1 score Wednesday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre on Bell Let’s Talk night.
