U SPORTS TOP 10 TUESDAY (#17):
UNB, Alberta back on top in men's and women's hockey
TORONTO (U SPORTS) – The UNB Varsity Reds and Alberta Pandas are once again the teams to beat in U SPORTS men's and women's hockey.
UNB (18-1-3) reclaimed the pole position for the first time since Oct. 17, after a pair of road wins including a 2-1 shootout victory over then-ranked No.1 StFX (17-1-4) on Saturday. The Varsity Reds will host No.7 Saint Mary's (15-6-1) and No.6 Acadia (15-5-2) this weekend.
In women's hockey, Alberta (13-4-3) jumped back in to top spot following back-to-back 2-0 and 5-0 shutouts in a home-and-home series against Calgary. The Pandas visit Regina this weekend for a two-game set.
In other U SPORTS rankings, Carleton (men's basketball), Acadia (women's basketball), UBC (men's and women's swimming, women's volleyball), Trinity Western (men's volleyball), Guelph (men's and women's track and field), Alberta (men's wrestling) and Brock (women's wrestling) all remain national leaders for another week.
